I thought it might be quite nice to write a little post about our gorgeous wedding day which was the absolute dream day! I mean, what better way to escape the woes of dreary January than to reminisce about our big day?!
We decided to get married in Italy after getting engaged in fabulous Florence. We really wanted a small and fuss free wedding surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills and we were lucky enough to be able to make that happen.
We wanted to find a venue which gave us the option to get married inside or outside depending on the weather and somewhere that offered all the wonderful charm that Italy has to offer. When we found Villa Montefiano in a quaint little town called Fiesole, I got a little giddy with excitement. It seemed to tick all the boxes and has the most incredible views, they were completely breathtaking. We were put in touch with a wedding planner who worked with the venue management and immediately knew that this venue would be 'the one'.
We arranged to visit Fiesole for a 'wedding recce' which included visiting the venue, the catering company and florists which didn't disappoint, if anything it exceeded our expectations. We were able to sample the delicious food, choose the tables, chairs and general design for the day plus choose the flowers and style. We were even asked to choose the uniform we would like the waiters to wear on the day!
We also stayed in the hotel we had booked for ourselves and family for the big day and were able to introduce ourselves to the hotel management who really couldn't do enough for us, it was a very successful 'wedding recce'!
Here are some of our favourite photos of the day and I hope it gives any bride and groom-to-be's out there some inspiration. I know I poured over photographs of 'real weddings' on wedding blogs which really helped me make some much needed decisions.
I love looking back on the day and wish we could do it all over again but have beautiful memories to cherish forever.
